Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Berding Consulting (“Berding Consulting,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use MyPlate, the task and project management service available at mypl8.app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password (which we store only as a salted, one-way hash — we never store your plain-text password).
- Content you create. Tasks, projects, teams, comments, custom fields, saved filters, time-tracking entries, and any other data you enter into the Service.
- Files you upload. Documents, images, and other files you attach to your tasks, which are stored on our behalf by Amazon Web Services (see “How We Share Information” below).
- Communications. Messages you send us, including support requests sent to the contact address below.
Information from third-party sign-in
If you choose to sign in using “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Microsoft,” we receive basic profile information from that provider — typically your name, email address, and a unique account identifier — solely to create and authenticate your MyPlate account. We do not receive your password for those accounts, and we do not request access to your contacts, files, or other data held by those providers.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and log data. We record sign-in events for security and fraud-prevention purposes, including the date and time, the sign-in method used, whether the attempt succeeded or failed, your IP address, and your browser’s user-agent string.
- Preferences. Display and notification settings, such as your theme preference and which email notifications you have opted into or out of.
- Recently viewed items. We track which tasks you have recently opened so we can show them to you for convenience.
Cookies
We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers. The cookies we set are:
- A session cookie that keeps you logged in while you use the Service;
- An optional “remember me” cookie that keeps you signed in across visits if you ask us to (it expires after about 30 days); and
- A short-lived security (CSRF) cookie used to protect the “Sign in with Google” flow against cross-site request forgery.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Create and authenticate your account and keep it secure;
- Store and display the content and files you create;
- Enable collaboration features, such as sharing tasks and working in teams;
- Send you transactional and account messages (for example, email-verification, password-reset, and notification emails you have opted into);
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized activity; and
- Comply with our legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers (subprocessors). We use trusted third parties to operate the Service on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, database storage, file storage, and email delivery;
- Google LLC — if you use “Sign in with Google” to authenticate; and
- Microsoft Corporation — if you use “Sign in with Microsoft” to authenticate.
- With other users you collaborate with. When you share a task with another user or participate in a team, the people you collaborate with can see the content you share and your name and email address as the collaborator.
- For legal reasons. If required to do so by law, or in response to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Berding Consulting, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer. If Berding Consulting is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any such change.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain security logs for a reasonable period for fraud-prevention and audit purposes. When you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, connections to the Service are encrypted over HTTPS, sign-in activity is logged, and password-reset and email-verification links are single-use and time-limited. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction. You can view and update most of your account information directly within the Service.
- Deletion and export. You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting us at the address below.
- Email preferences. You can opt out of notification emails in your account settings or by using the unsubscribe link in those emails. We will still send essential account and security emails, such as password resets.
- California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You may exercise your rights to know, access, and delete by contacting us.
- Users in the EEA / UK. Where applicable law grants you rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, or to object to its processing, you may exercise those rights by contacting us.
7. International Users
The Service is operated in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
